Mittelstand Innovativ & Digital Nordrhein-Westfalen
‘Mittelstand Innovativ & Digital (MID) - Digital Security’ is a new sub-program of the MID funding program. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports small and medium-sized enterprises in identifying and fixing security gaps in their IT systems, making them more resilient against cyberattacks.
USE OF THE FUNDING
The funding has three combinable focus areas: IT security assessments, employee training, and acquisition of hardware and software. All measures aim to identify and address security gaps. These funding areas can also be combined. The funding rate is 80% for micro and small companies, and 60% for medium-sized companies. The support can be requested for a period of 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. The application and processing of the funding are done digitally through a support portal. The funding is provided through a reimbursement process and is capped at a maximum of 15,000 euros.
The following conditions are prerequisites for the funding application:
- The company must be based in North Rhine-Westphalia.
- The undertaken measures must have an impact at a location within North Rhine-Westphalia.
- The company has fewer than 250 employees and an annual turnover of up to 50 million euros or a balance sheet total of up to 43 million euros.
