Our Senior Security Consultant Heiko Ehret will present at MedConf2026 . The MedConf is a specialist conference for medical technology that brings together experts for practical exchange. The conference takes place from May 19-21, 2026 in Munich-Unterhaching.

IEC 81001: Practical Challenges and Solutions

The IEC 81001 standard presents companies with significant practical challenges when implementing regulatory requirements. In particular, meeting security requirements, creating and maintaining technical documentation, and continuously evaluating cybersecurity throughout the entire product lifecycle require a structured and traceable approach.

In his presentation, Heiko Ehret will highlight the central importance of a comprehensive ThreatandRiskAssessment(TRA) for successful implementation of the standard. Participants will learn how to:

  • conduct systematic threat and risk analysis as the foundation for Security by Design.
  • identify risks already in the design phase.
  • plan technical and organizational measures to minimize risks.
  • implement and verify security measures in practice.
  • handle typical challenges in TRA execution.
  • which solution approaches have proven effective.

The presentation specifically targets professionals from development, management, and quality assurance who work with medical technology products.
